Welcome to the USS Medea!

The USS Medea is a scientific exploration vessel, setup for finding the strange and unusual in the Delta Quadrant. The crew, hand-picked for their expertise in their given fields, have the same curiosity as their commanding officer. The Medea is part of 22nd Fleet and is assigned to the Delta Quadrant. The Medea is set to go into the areas that are unexplored, find the planets that have yet to be scanned, research the things that make the Delta Quadrant tick. Diplomacy is, of course, part of the equation when necessary.

» Mission 2 Complete!

Posted on Sat Feb 1st, 2020 @ 2:14pm by Captain Christine Applegate in Sim Announcement

Okay guys, we FINALLY finished mission 2! I’ve moved all pending posts from mission 2 to mission 3 and have closed up mission 2. We had 17 total posts for the mission, which did drag on for a while. Granted, there was a lot going on in a lot of people’s lives.

Mission 3 is in full swing, please hit your tags in the 3-day tag turn-around time or let me and Commander Ryan know as to why you aren’t. Everyone gets busy, and we understand.

If you have post/mission ideas, feel free to bounce them around.

» Medea Turns 1!

Posted on Mon Jan 27th, 2020 @ 1:36am by Captain Christine Applegate in General News

Just a quick thing, as I missed it two days ago, but had my kiddos running around and my son turned 10 today.

However:

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO THE MEDEA!

We've gone through a lot but haven't even cleared a month in-sim time. Might have to get that figured out eventually (which will likely mean a change to the timeline mod but later for that) but I'm glad for all of you sticking it out with me.

Three fleet changes, an XO change, and many other things. Let's keep it going!

» Quarterly Refresh Oct - Dec 2019

Posted on Wed Jan 1st, 2020 @ 1:06pm by Captain Christine Applegate in General News

So, since we moved to 22nd Fleet, we only have quarterly reports that we do instead of Monthly. Although mine was submitted a few days ago, I waited until the 1st to put it up here.

Report For: USS Medea
Player Count: 10
Average Post Count: 2

Current Story:

The crew has just completed investigating a strange reading on an unexplored planet in the Delta Quadrant that ended up having a cavern full of old Alpha Quadrant items. Those that created this 'shrine' decided that they were happy to have living items and started to fire at the tunnel that took the crew there and closed it off. Captain Applegate, who was left on the ship, had no choice but to fire on the ship in hopes of stopping them.

Commander Ryan found an item after the crew's attempts to get a way out failed. Although Amelix was overly excited by the item, Ryan activated it and the away team ended up back on the bridge of the Medea.

The crew is now currently in holiday time/between missions and have free-writing.

Award Nominations - Player:
The command crew nominates Andrew/Taral, who plays Baktosh, as our player of the quarter. He is always going along with the antics that happen and joins in on them!

Overall, I'm extremely proud of all of you! We are just shy of being a year old. Although we aren't the fastest moving sim ever (which is completely fine), we've done 75 posts, including 11 in the current mission.

We will get working on the new mission somewhat soon but feel free to continue your free writing. Again, the XO and I are available for joint posts, and we will work on coming up with a mission but the current start date is unknown due to travel issue for the XO that came up this week.

Let's have a great 2020 everyone!!

» Holiday Downtime

Posted on Thu Dec 5th, 2019 @ 1:27am by Captain Christine Applegate in Sim Announcement

Hey All! Your dear CO Tine/Kris here!

As was stated in the Discord by our XO, December 7th through January 3rd will be when we are lenient on the posting requirements. Please do try to keep up on tags, but don't worry if you can't get them super quick. Up til Saturday, the 3 day tag reply rule is still there.

All posts during that time can go into the current Mission 2. But we will be basically waiting for our next assignment.

In sim time will be late July 19th, 2389 - July 24th, 2389.

And...I'm going to be nice because I know I might be asked *cough*Baktosh*cough*, you CAN contact home in the Alpha quadrant!!

Okay, that's it. Enjoy the holidays all and I will be around as much as I can be! I have my kiddos Christmas week, but should still be around!

» New Home

The Medea has a new home!

Well, a new fleet. We have been welcomed into 22nd Fleet.

As I stated in my last announcement, there is no change to the simming. If you want to join 22nd Fleet's Discord, there is a link on the page above. If not, that is fine!

I will do my best to keep the 22nd Fleet Medea page up to date, as well as our own. I know I have some housecleaning to do, which I will get to over the next few days. (My writing brain has finally returned!)

Also: Please watch the current mission post and watch for a personal post coming from me, there shall be things that happen!
