USS Medea NCC-74796

Welcome to the USS Medea!

The USS Medea is a scientific exploration vessel, setup for finding the strange and unusual in the Delta Quadrant. The crew, hand-picked for their expertise in their given fields, have the same curiosity as their commanding officer. The Medea is part of 22nd Fleet and is assigned to the Delta Quadrant. The Medea is set to go into the areas that are unexplored, find the planets that have yet to be scanned, research the things that make the Delta Quadrant tick. Diplomacy is, of course, part of the equation when necessary.

Quarterly Report, USS Medea, Quarter 1, 2021

Sim Stats

Crew

Crew count has changed this quarter quite a bit. We’ve had to move two players to inactive due to no response for updates: Lieutenant JG Mires and Lieutenant Wrex.

However, we gained Greenfelt, who plays our new chief operations officer Lieutenant Jennifer Matthews.

Active crew count is at 7.

Due to real life of the CO, XO, and everyone else, posting requirements have not been enforced.

Mission Recap

Current Mission: Mission 5: Research Team - Missing in Action. The crew made it to Binides and found the research station mission. However, it was then located: under the water on the opposite side of the planet. Unable to beam down, the crew took a shuttle to the station. They were able to dock and found the crew of the station alive and not knowing they are underwater.

The crew has split up into two teams: medical and command. Time to figure out what happened.

Player of the Quarter

Again, the whole crew gets the player of the quarter award. With myself and the XO dealing with crap, you’ve all stuck it out and done your best to keep up with the posts!

Ideas

Please let us know if you have any ideas or things you'd like to see come of the sim. We are brand new and have the Delta Quadrant to explore!

Mission Recap

The crew was attending a party...with a different disco ball. As well as actual alcohol and snacks. After all the time of malfunctioning systems, they deserve it. The party (post) ended with some tipsy ones heading to dance…

Current Mission: Mission 5: Research Team - Missing in Action. On the way back to the Starbase for some much needed shoreleave, Captain Applegate received a call from Command letting them know that they were needed on another mission prior to their shore leave being started.

A research station on the planet Bindes has been without any contact for over two weeks. The Medea is the closest ship and has been sent to investigate. Though the crew were not thrilled with their shore leave being delayed, they understood and are ready for the mission. The ship has just arrived at Bindes and is starting their scans....

Player of the Quarter

This quarter, I’m giving the Player of the Quarter award to the entire crew! Even though things slowed down due to the holidays and end of year, you’ve all stuck it out and did your best to keep up with posts and tags. Thank you all!!!

Posting requirements relaxed 11/28/2020 - 01/05/2021

Those who haven't seen the Discord channel, please see the above. This does not mean that we're stopping posting, as I wish to keep the mission going. However, I'm not going to be as strict on the 3-day tag answering.

Anyone who needs an LOA can still take one, just let myself or any of the command staff know/post it on the LOA channel on Discord.

I also know we currently do not have a science officer, at all. With the holiday, I'm not going to post any ads until after the New Year. This way no one tries to jump in on relaxed posting requirements and expect a super active sim.

And yes, science is important to the current mission, and I thank our XO for taking on an NPC when needed (as per what he's told me he'd do this).

The next post for the mission is awaiting the end of the current one, I simply have to add everyone into it.

The party post likely will go up this weekend, as no one has touched it in quite some time. If anyone has something against this, please let me know ASAP.

Everyone: have an amazing holiday! I'm around nearly all the time on Discord for chatting and such!

Mission Recap

Mission 4: Strange Happenings is completed. The whole issue with the ship has been discovered after some...embarrassing...and funny...and crazy...malfunctions. The Doctor now has blue hair, the commanding and first officers know how they feel about each other, more than a few awkward things have happened, and an unprompted party on the bridge.

All of this thanks to a disco ball. Brought back from the cavern of Alpha Quadrant items, the Doctor decided to use it as decoration. All scans on all items from that cavern that were accidentally or purposely brought back from there were cleared through scans, but apparently not deep enough scans. Lieutenant Milner has her work cut out for her to dig around in it and see what happened.

Currently: the crew is attending a party...with a different disco ball. As well as actual alcohol and snacks. After all the time of malfunctioning systems, they deserve it.

Player of the Quarter

The command team would like to give the 3rd quarterly Player of the Quarter award to: Anth, who plays Counselor Tymon Wrex. Congrats Anth!

Mission Recap

Mission 3: Negotiations, is DONE! Captain Christine Applegate was turned back into an adult, with all the memories of being a toddler in-tact. Apologies to certain crew members were completed by the captain as she felt them necessary.

Mission 4: Strange Happenings is now in full swing. Random issues have started to pop up all over the ship: replicators, sonic showers causing burns or burst eardrums, random music playing on the bridge which included cats meowing, diagnostics not running properly. There is word the ‘malfunctions’ might be jumping from system to system, as the diagnostics that do run sometimes show something in a system, sometimes don’t. But, the actual cause is still unknown.

Player of the Quarter

Baktosh & Deka (Taral & Starduster): Due to their going above and beyond on the previous mission. Both in helping write the negotiation posts and playing alien cultures that they designed themselves with nothing more than the name of each species. And, for their involvement in the Baby Tine parts.
