Mission:
Mission 3: Negotiations
Location: Hunara Capital | Situation Room
Timeline: 2389 19 at 1800
His Honorable Premier of the Commonwealth of Humara, Opu was surrounded by his closest advisors, his choir of Trustees who monitored, oversaw, and orchestrated aspects of the Commonwealth of Humara including but not limited to: Religion, the Arts, Education, Capital, Defense, Diplomacy, and Infrastructure.
Each stood around a long illuminated table in a great hall, once a banquet room, but had undergone cosmetic changes to become a 'situation room' and the table itself was lined with holographic projectors. The Trustees encircled the table as various planets in varying sizes and colors appeared across the table, planets that represented the Commonwealth.
"This is unacceptable!" squawked the hawkish Trustee of Defense, a smaller Hunara female with midnight blue, almost black feathers with streaks of silvery-white on her crown, nape, and breast. She was ruffled over something occurring on a remote planet within the Commonwealth.
Another Trustee, the Trustee of Religion was in agreement. He was mostly white in coloration, larger than her with a small bright yellow beak and streaks of deep red throughout his body. "I concur wholeheartedly" he replied. "You can see it clearly right here," he said gesturing his right-wing towards and area of space around the planet in question. "Residual subspace distortions, ion trails, and they are most certainly not Hunara..especially not this time of season" he added.
The plump short Premier with his orange melon coloration and unruly yellow crown that blew wildly when outdoors hobbled around the table squawking up a storm and tweeting nonsensically. "Maybe it was the Kazon" he said blurting out an accusation. He was known for his loose cannon nature and was an 'elder' by Hunara standards, but he had wealth, power, and knew people who knew people, and some of them were encircling the table.
A long-necked Hunara with a smooth crown and grayish lilac feather with black and golden brown speckled wings cooed to bring attention to himself. He was the Trustee of Diplomacy, and was often overlooked and not listened to. "The science does not fit" he replied swiftly shaking his wings on either side. "Simply put, it cannot be the Kazon. They have never traveled this far out and we've rarely ever encountered vessels that have made contact with them. The energy signatures do not match their warp trails" added the Trustee of Diplomacy.
An evident groaning noise was heard from the Premier who then pecked at the table for a moment, taking out his frustration. "Foreigners are invading every day!" he squawked. "The Commonwealth will not stand for this. They cross into our space, cut through our trade routes, defecate on our most sacred lands. What's next? Cruise vessels packed full of bohemians, Prison barges full of criminals, and caravans of vagabonds trying to settle on our planets and moons!"
The smallest of Hunara at the table was barely able to be seen as he was of equal height to the table, and needed to stand on a perch to see over the table. He had small beady eyes and a dark black stubby beak and light gray crown with white breast, chest, and belly and a mix of reddish-brown and golden-brown feathers on his wings. He was the Trustee of Captial "The Commonwealth could become richer and more powerful if we act accordingly and start to charge a toll fee for access of Commonwealth space" offered the small male Hunara.
"That might be something to consider, Sir," said the Trustee of Defense. "I will have our salience vessels patrol the areas of concern and identify whoever is becoming a problem, trespassing on our lands and space" she added.
The Trustee of Diplomacy chimed in "And I implore you all to seek out third party mediation" he said swiftly. "We cannot risk another war official or not, formally declared or not."
Another Hunara, an advisor of sorts, but not a Trustee at the table chirped vehemently. "The tree hugger is correct, Sir" said the advisor. "The citizens of the Commonwealth will not look kindly upon a war with far out from another election. We cannot afford to drop in ratings."
"Then I see only two choices" commented the Premier. "We either offensively attack any vessel that enters our space or we pursue diplomatic means with a profitable outcome for the Commonwealth."
